CONSTRUCTION
The image above displays pieces of part MRD-20-003. In this process, the pieces were cut out from a sheet of .25-inch steel with the use of a table plasma cutter. After the initial cutout of the pieces, there was some cleanup to be done around the edges where the plasma cutter made contact.
The image above displays the completed part of MRD-20-003. The part was completed by the use of a tig welder to weld the pieces together to form the L-bracket shape prepared for it to be mounted.
This image displays the partial disassembly of the JCATI crushing and shredding system. This process is in preparation finding details on where certain items will be staged.
This image displays the disassembly of the previous sprocket that would transfer power from the gearboxes into the crushing assembly.
This image displays the overlay of the Tensioner sprocket assembly with complete part MRD-20-003. This is to confirm the holes were properly cut out in the process of cnc plasma cutting.
This image displays part MRD-55-002 the 9 tooth sprocket. This shows the part that was received from the manufacturer and will require further modification as the keyway needs to be modified to fit the current keyway.
This image displays part MRD-20-003 when it has been complete. However, during the manufacturing process there was a defect created. This defect caused by the plasma cutter lag.
The image above displays the assembly of the manufactured L-bracket and the tensioner arm welded onto the table.
The complete construction process was not complete due to a couple issues. The first issue was with the shipping of the parts not arriving early enough. However, the other issue was the lack of proper tooling for making proper modifications to parts MRD-55-001 and MRD-55-009.
